What Would You Do With Your Prize Win

Published on

So you have won a competition and you are trying to figure out what to do with the prize. Perhaps you only spent a bit of time doing this and only submitted to a few different sites. You have won, but there is a problem. You might not want the prize that is being offered.

This could happen when you sign up for the big prize and instead of winning that, you end up winning one of the side prizes and it is something that you do not want. Here are some of the things that you can do if you end up winning a prize that you do not want.

Give to a Friend
The first thing that you can do is offer it to a friend. Perhaps you have a friend who would appreciate the gift more than you do. Give it to them as a gift for their next birthday and then you can get it out of your home. Make sure to find a friend or family member who would really like the gift to someone who would like it or who at least has some use for it before giving it.

Sell it
Depending on the prize that you won from your online competitions, you might be able to find some people who will be willing to purchase. This means that while you might not want the prize for your own, you might be able to make some money from the prize by selling it to someone else. See if anyone in your area would purchase it or try selling it online for a profit. Check out a couple different sites to see which ones you might have the best luck with selling your item.

Donate it
If you just want to get rid of the prize and it is just in your way, you might want to consider donating it. At least this way someone will be able to get some use out of it rather than wasting it by throwing it away. Find out some of the places in your community that will take your item or items and give them to others who are looking for that item for free or a discounted price. This means that you can get it off your hands quickly, even though you will not be able to make money, but you will no longer have to deal with it.
